I’m serious about Migration
I think migration is too high. Full stop. And I want UK politicians to control UK borders.

The facts:
-
37 chartered returns flights taken off
— Since the election
-
19,000 illegal migrants removed
— Since the election
-
Returns up a quarter
— July 2024 - Jan 2025 compared to previous year
-
609 arrests for illegal working
- in January 2025 alone
-
23% increase in Foreign National Offender returns
- July ‘24- Jan ‘25 compared to the same time last year
-
HIGHEST number for 5 years of illegal migrants and Foreign Criminals removed
- since the election
“Every week good people tell me they worry we have lost control over who is entering Britain. They are right to be concerned.”
What we’re doing:
Cracking down on
small boat crossings
No one should be arriving in the UK across the Channel on a small boat.
I voted for the Border Security Bill, so smuggler gangs can be treated like terrorists. This gives the new Border Security Command more powers to disrupt gangs and small boat production before people get in boats.
Now we have agreed with France that they will lift the ban on stopping migrant boats at sea for the first time.
Returning those with no right to be here
The last Government stopped returning people. They left the borders open and failed to enforce the law.
We have fixed the system so if people have no right to be in the UK, we can quickly deport them.
We have chartered the biggest return flights ever. We have raided workplaces with illegal migrants and returned them and have new deals to return Foreign National Offenders.
Growing skills in the UK
Growth in the UK cannot be reliant on low-wage migration. In this country, low investment means low productivity, and that means lower wages for working people.
We need to get Britons back to work and invest in skills for British workers. That’s why we’re creating Skills England and making sure that work is secure and pays well. New rules mean companies can hire apprentices more easily across Wigan.
I voted for the Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Bill
Watch my speech in the House of Commons, backing the Bill, and supporting the principle of controlled borders
I’m looking for people to have a real conversation about migration with me.
This is open to people of a variety of different views on immigration - and you don’t need to be a Labour voter either.
